To use FAR with both, do not use the traditional ReShade plug-in technique (in the config UI). Place ReShade's DLL in NieR: Automata's install directory as dxgi.dll, and place 3DMigoto as d3d11.dll. Attempting to load ReShade as a plug-in will cause the game to immediately crash. No patch was released for any of these issues. Modders eventually came to the rescue with FAR, the Fix Automata Resolution tool, which not only fixed the bugs but also improved the visuals. For ReShade, go to and click Download ReShade. button. This link will downlaod.exe version, but you can simply unzip it by unzip command. Manually install GShade/ReShade to NieR:Automata game directory. For GSahde, copy all files/folders other than d3d9.dll into the game directory.

Many fans were happy to hear about Kaldaien’s “FAR mod,” a patch that fixes Nier: Automata’s technical issues on PC. Some people who downloaded the mod were surprised to find that it. Steam user Kaldaien has written a fix for a bug that prevents the game from rendering at your native resolution, and reportedly boosts frame rates.

We haven’t tested it ourselves, but a number of users on the related Reddit thread claim great results. Mrfishstickreportsit took his 970 from 35 FPS at 1440p up to the high 50s, while original poster skyline385 says he went from 45FPS on the lowest settings and a 980M, to 60FPS with everything maxed out (but he had to do without anti-aliasing).

Framerate Unlocker

The framerate unlocker is known to break cutscenes and scripting in the game. Use at your own risk!

Steps to enable the framerate unlocker:

1. Disable V-Sync in-game
2. Disable the built-in frame limiter of FAR (set it to 0)
3. Enable Remove 60 FPS Cap
4. (optional) Edit RefreshRate=-1 in dxgi.ini to override the default 60 Hz refresh rate of the game.

For those of us with machines to handle the flow, it's unnecessary, so here's a little something to get rid of that pesky cap in NieR: Automata. As usual, NieR: Automata has a lot of settings that may not have been optimized for PC play, so this mod takes aim at addressing as many of them as possible. At it's core, it reworks how the game handles Resolution, God Rays and Bloom Effect settings in the game. By optimizing these settings, it makes the effects in NieR look better and reduces the amount of work your system has to do to utilize them. If utilizing the ReShade mod we posted, it's recommended that you install this first, then reinstall ReShade. That said, pirates beware! This mod has a built-in check that will lock you out of Nier: Automata if you pirated the game.

First of all I apologise to those who were asking me to make this mod, it took longer to come out as I had to go away for a week on the 17th (the games release date). This was also a lot harder to make than I had first anticipated, due to the design of 2B's costume and the way the textures worked, so I had to try redesign her costume 2B more revealing (pun, sorry couldn't help myself). More apologies as there are quite a few issues with this mod, the main issue being the skin tone, it changes colour a lot due to the lighting and can sometimes look very contrasting in comparison to the leg skin tone. For that reason I'm gonna claim that this mod is a see through, string sort of costume. I know I'm such a sneaky ass snake, but I am looking into a way to fix that, so I may release a second version if I can find a fix. Another issue I only noticed when looking through my screenshots, 2B's stockings become very metallic, glossy looking. I know how to fix this issue but then it breaks the skin tone more, so again looking into it. But for now I hope you enjoy my mod; I haven't got very far in the game, so any bug reports other than the issues already mentioned would be most appreciated.

This mod is to be used with Resorep (www.undertow.club/downloads/re…), credit to Ray Wing for creating the mod tool. Download the files from this page and place them in the modded folder. If you need help using the tool either use the Resorep FAQ page (www.undertow.club/threads/tool…) or MR JAG has created a very easy tutorial to follow (www.youtube.com/watch?v=JQnuCD…). Make sure you have Microsoft C++ distributables 2015 and Java SE Runtime Environment 8 installed for Resorep to work.
